The wharf to waves is an annual sporting event that has grown each year since it's inception. Orginally it began as an Ocean Swim from the historic Tathra Wharf to the beach, but now it includes a bike ride and fun run. There are two swims in the event, a 600 and a 1200 metre. The event will be held over the Australian day long weekend.

The Sapphire Coast Week of Golf in October has been held for more than 30 years and is now an iconic amateur golfing event in Australia. The Eden Whale Festival is an annual event that celebrates the impact that Whales have had on the town and Port of Eden. The event is usually held in early November each year and is timed to coincide with the annual southern migration of the humpback whales on the Far South Coast of New South Wales

Each year the Merimbula Chamber of Commerce hosts a family concert and fireworks spectacular at Ford Park in Merimbula. The concert usually starts in the early evening and goes late into the night, with family fireworks at 9pm and then again at midnight to bring in the New Year.
