Need a overall renovation

Angela99 - 15th January 2021

We will give 2 stars one for the great location and one for allowing pets. We chose this place mainly for the allowance of pet and 3 bedrooms. We have two adult kids who wanted to have own rooms. However when we got there none of the beds in third room was made up. Instead it was in a mess with doonas and linens thrown on beds. We tried to find the correct linens to make a bed but couldn’t find pillow cases or any quilt covers. We contacted the agent and able to get the extra linens the next day. They just assumed we were two couples without confirming it. Overall the property was extremely run down for the rate we paid for our five night stay. We were extra surprised at the lack of cleanses of the place especially when they indicated they follow COVID cleanses. Bathroom door downstairs were very sticky to touch (I had to wipe it down few unknown matters on the door myself). There were holes on bathroom wall upstairs & floor was not cleaned well. Shower curtains were very run down and dirty. Bedrooms were dusty and one of queen bedroom base had yellow stains. Entry mats were really dirty and old. Front yard was in less than desirable condition. We did not want to use the bbq at all. Kitchen and stair lights didn’t work. Only two things got us to stay the full duration were location and pet allowance. I will not recommend this place to anyone especially for the rate we were charged.

Ok

The location is what brought us back to this house a year later, however we probably won't stay here again. In the year since we last visited, minimal upgrades/maintenance has been made to the house. There were 8 cockroaches that we saw & killed, lots of ants, a dirty BBQ, very old front mat which held a beach worth of sand in it, plus old brooms for cleaning. The benefit is that Cranky's cafe, Fishpen takeaway & the beach is in close proximity. Maintenance would need to be upscaled if we were to return here next year.

Great location

A fabulous place for us to stay - close to everything we needed for a great holiday. The house itself was comfortable enough. Just little touches that could have made the stay better; a working vacuum would be handy, and to have dog brushes removed from the living area would have been nice too. The cleaner isn’t particularly thorough either.

Updates required and invasion of cockroaches

Betty - 31st March 2018

Brilliant location close to town and beaches but the house needs updates such as the bathrooms, the windows. We had an invasion of cockroaches which made the stay not so pleasant.

Best Location

Walking distance to surf beach, great cafe, and the town. The house is great we spent all our time upstairs on balcony when not out exploring Merimbula.
