The Tathra Wharf is an historic 100 year steamer wharf the only one of its kind remaining in New South Wales. It is a popular place for fishing with visitors and locals alike. The local cafe housed in the old wharf building is a great place for a coffee or a meal. While you are there trace the history of this fascinating landmark, check out the little penguins and seals that visit the wharf and in whale season observe the migrating humpback whales.
An annual Wharf to Waves swim race is hotly contested each year with the race being extended now to include a bike ride from Bega across the Dr George Mountain to Tathra.
